Jacques POLI, a former student of the Beaux-Arts (alongside Daniel Buren and Claude Viallat), born in Nîmes in 1938, evolved from an obsessive, highly fragmented and intellectualized figurative style to a liberated abstraction where objects, particularly metallic ones, have become conveyors of an entire civilization. Here we present to you three lithographs from 1982 where the materials and details of gigantic elements become more real in fragments than in their complete entity, including an interesting work on the Chrysler Building.
