Painter of the lyrical movement, Jean MIOTTE explores the canvas to inhabit it in a very personal organization (his relationship with white, in particular, offers a rare structural interest), and lets a controlled energy combined with an assumed contemplation escape from his work. Coming from mathematics, fascinated by dance, a great traveler, Miotte is an endearing artist who was one of the first European abstract painters to conquer both Asia and the United States.
