Chilean surrealist painter, Roberto MATTA was a dissident, revolutionary, politically engaged (the execution of the Rosenbergs, May 1968, Pinochet's coup d'état), who lived in tune with his time. He made his mark on his era by fully linking the artist's work to the citizen's reflection, frequented great surrealists (Breton, Duchamp, Magritte) but also Federico Garcia Lorca and passed away in exile in Italy in 2002.
