To keep in mind

Cuban painter of Chinese origin (through his father), Wifredo LAM belonged to the surrealist movement. It was through Picasso that he met André Breton, with whom he was actually interned for a few days during a stopover in Martinique, while trying to reach New York in 1941, like many other artists fleeing Nazism. His artistic journey took place in the realms of the conscious and unconscious that he explored throughout his life, through threatening birds and babel-like constructions.
