When Daguerre invents the photography, the painters wonder about the purpose of their art : to represent the reality... The photography succeeds very well in representing this reality in black and white and will succeed in it even better in colors. For the painting, this is thus not anymore a question of representing but of interpreting !
The Impressionists will be the first ones of these new adventurers, before Fauvists, before the Cubists or the Constructivists, they are going to open a new way.
Would they believe it ? 150 years later, they became classics ...
