Kinetic Art
Kinetic art is a movement within abstract art that focuses on the aesthetics of movement, primarily in sculpture, notably illustrated by Alexander CALDER and his famous Mobiles.
The counterpart to kinetic art, also known as Op Art (for optical art), developed pictorially and is based on optical illusions where the eye cannot accommodate the dissimilarities of several colored surfaces, juxtaposed and violently contrasted.
The main proponents of this movement are Victor VASARELY, as well as his son YVARAL, and Pol BURY.
