Fascinated by colors, it is only very late that he turned to the study of Fine Arts (after studying law). His artistic commitment is both theoretical and practical!

His contemporaries

He initially belonged to the "Der Blaue Reiter" movement, then later joined the Bauhaus where he taught and saw all the painters in Europe who were seeking, whether on the part of students or professors, pass through until the school was closed by the Nazis in 1933.
