Biography of Véra Braun
Véra BRAUN was born in 1902 in Budapest, Hungary.
It was in Paris, where she arrived in 1928, that she discovered painting, cubism, and the work of Georges Braque.
Initially in André Lhote's studio, then in Fernand Léger's, she evolved her style from a naive figurative at the beginning to an increasingly dynamic abstract, a constant search for expression that she pursued both with painting, lithography, and watercolor.
In 1959, she was awarded the International Painting Prize.
She regularly exhibited from the 1960s onwards in France, Switzerland, and England.
Several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, acquired her works in the 1970s.
In 1997, she passed away in St Maurice de Lignon in Haute-Loire.
