Biography of Henry D'Anty
Henry D'ANTY was born in Paris on September 8, 1910.
He first became passionate about drawing before realizing, during a stay in Brittany, that only painting could allow him to capture the power of light or the truth of a shade on canvas.
After the Second World War, during which he was first mobilized and then taken prisoner, he settled on the Butte Montmartre where he occupied Pablo Picasso's former studio.
It is there that he let his talent express itself and put on canvas the warm colors of his palette, mainly a rich and powerful ruby red, reflecting his painting so rich in small punctual observations and a lively presence as if this life were the only belief he would dream of.
He passed away in 1998, after many museums both French and foreign (especially North American) acquired numerous of his paintings.
