Biography of Michel Henry

MICHEL-HENRY was born in Langres, in eastern France, in 1928. He showed extraordinary talent for drawing and painting at an early age. After attending the National School of Fine Arts, he became the massier (workshop chief) of the Grand Master Chapelain Midy.

Belonging to the School of Paris, like Bernard BUFFET or Jean CARZOU, he stands out for the joy and cheerfulness that inhabit his canvases, while his contemporaries and fellow disciples are darker and more miserabilist. For there is joy, energy, and happiness in MICHEL-HENRY's work!

A pleasure to live, to paint, to love, which has made him an adored artist worldwide, especially in Japan where a museum is dedicated to him personally near the city of Sapporo, an extremely rare thing for an artist during his lifetime...

So come in, too, to this universe full of light and color!
