Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, from the French nobility, had a childhood marked by family tragedies, but also by an early passion for aviation and writing. After failing to enter the Naval Academy, he pursued studies in Fine Arts and became a pilot, which heavily influenced his literary work. His experiences as an aviator inspired his early novels such as "Night Flight" (1931). During World War II, he became a prominent figure in the Resistance and disappeared on a mission in 1944. His most famous work, "The Little Prince," written in 1943, is a philosophical tale that became a worldwide success.
